The official documents
(birth, baptism,
marriage, death
certificates) are the best source of information for the
genealogist. Not only
do they bring
the irrefutable official proof (of days,
dates, places...) but they
contain a number of important complementary information
(like parents, witnesses,
annexe comments,...) which permits sometimes to
correct certain errors and
clarify some doubts.
The
certificates relative to the events before 1880 are saved in
the State archives where they can be consulted (with photocopies
or microfilms). After 1880 the certificates are kept by the
registry office of the local authority (commune).
To
consult these certificates is a fastidious task. Even in
noting a maximum of information,
it is often necessary, afterwards to return to the original
certificate in order to double check some
questions that arose afterwards.
For this reason, we shall
try to assemble and make available a copy of these
certificates which have been accumulated during the
genealogical research relative to the patronymic DELPERDANGE.
The
certificates are filed in 3 categories: birth and baptism
certificates, marriage
certificates, and death certificates. In each section, the
certificates are listed in chronological
order.
