One only has to type the name "Patrick
DELPERDANGE" on an Internet search engine to realise the
place Patrick DELPERDANGE is occupying in the world of
contemporary French literature.
Patrick
DELPERDANGE was born in 1960 in Charleroi. At this moment he
is living and working in Brussels. He has already written
about 20 works, intended as well for a grown-up public as
for children. Also in the world of
comic strips his name cannot be ignored.
A lot of his novels have been awarded a prize
: with his novel "Monk" he got the Simenon prize, for his
theatre play "Nuit d'amour" he got the prize "Jeune théâtre".
The novel "Comme une bombe" published in 1988
was considered an important event in the history of adult
literature. This novel has already been translated into
Spanish, Romanian and Dutch. The novel "Coup de froid"
published in 1992 was also received enthusiastically.
In November 2000 he wrote the scenario for
his first comic strip "Gloire à Satan" together with the
artist André Taymans.

Some weeks ago his name appeared in the
newspaper headlines for his novel "Chant des gorges" : for
the first time indeed the traditional Rossel Prize and the
Junior Rossel Prize were presented to one and the same
novel.
