The DELPERDANGs (USA)
On September 14th, 1820 Michel Joseph DELPERDANGE
married Anne Marie KLAINES. By that time, they did not know that
their union would be the start of de development of an
important
Delperdange line in the United States of America.
They got
married in Bastogne, lived some years in this town,
then
moved
about 1825
to WARNACH (Fauvillers), a little village
about 15 km
south of Bastogne. Thus the
elder
son was born in Bastogne, the others in Warnach.
Michel Joseph
DELPERDANGE can easily be linked to Henri HANSY, as most of
his ancestors were baptized, got married and were buried
in Bastogne.
(see Chapter :
The link to HANSY)
Michel Joseph
DELPERDANGE and Anne Marie KLAINES gave
birth to
eleven
children between 1821
and 1842.
(see Chapter : Michel's family)
Three of their
sons
-
Nicolas, Lambert and Hubert
(they all
lost the final "e" of DELPERDANGE at their arrival in the
States)
- and their grandson -
August Joachim LEJEUNE -
emigrated to
the United States, where numerous descendants of
Henri HANSY can be traced.
(see Chapters : The story of ...)
A lot
of genealogical research on the descendants of Michel
DELPERDANGE and Anne Marie KLAINES in the U.S. has been done
by Darin DELPERDANG, descendant of Nicolas DELPERDANGE (to
visit his website,
click here), and by Joan SHIPLEY,
descendant of August LEJEUNE, who even came to Belgium to
trace her ancestors in Bastogne and Warnach. They
kindly sent all the information they had collected and
accepted to include it in this website.
